Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the science that examines the relationship between people and their environment. Ergonomics is mostly about working conditions, but also about the usability of products. In our practices, we see an increase on patients with complaints caused by specific postures during work. The last two decades, work spots and working conditions have radically changed. Automation has adverse consequences on our bodies. Where tasks are executed faster and more effective, it’s the body that suffers. This results in neck and shoulder complaints and (lower) back problems. The role of physiotherapists has changed over the last years from treating patients, to supporting and advising them on Ergonomics. I have deepened my knowledge concerning multiple applications of Ergonomics and would be glad to assist you.
